If I had to guess, I'd say that we've all just suffered a mass data freeze. I'm still in Neon City, and the city doesn't look the least bit like it had just been swallowing itself whole.

Of course, given the nature of the digital world, that could have been a virus, or THIS could be a virus...

Or, heck, we could all have died, and this is some sort of digital afterlife.

... Spooky thought.
