We've never talked before so you guys wouldn't know me, but, while everyone was fighting Chaosmon one of Aniki's friends brought me the Omega Blade, because I was an Imperialdramon then. When I took it, Imperialdramon talked to me. He told me that I was going to inherit his power and asked me to help him finish what he couldn't. He wanted to end Chaosmon's suffering and the disgrace of the Royal Knights. I told him I would and turned into Paladin Mode to help beat Chaosmon. ...I guess that would make me Imperialdramon's successor? Though the Omega Blade wasn't with me when I woke up after the data freeze... And there's no way for me to go back to where Draco Island was and look for it now...

But anyway, what I wanted to ask you guys was... What was he like when he was alive?

I didn't think I was? I've just been wondering about it since then and figured I could ask you two, since you're the only people I know of who knew him. Why? Do Digimon not like being asked about people who died?

There wasn't really time to ask many questions. Imperialdramon said that the Omega Blade is the second Zero ARMS after Chaosmon, and they're for destroying the Demon Kings with the power of Digimon data. And he said that only another Imperialdramon can use it. That's pretty much all I know. He gave me what he knew along with his power, and I know it's still in my head somewhere, but I can't remember any of it anymore.

He was exactly as you described him. Wise, kind... someone who acknowledged his enemy's spirit as well as that of his friends and allies.

He was a greater knight than all of us.

He really must have cared about everyone a lot. I don't think anyone else there was thinking about if Chaosmon was suffering. I know I wasn't.

Chaosmon.... Chaosmon was a mistake... many of them in fact...

...Imperialdramon said that Chaosmon was the first Zero Arms, and that it was made from the remains of the previous Digital World but went out of control. So I guess that that wasn't the first time the world ended? But why couldn't Yggdrasil fix it like he did this time? And why turn the pieces of the old world into...that?

... The circumstances were different back then. There is a difference between the... chaos caused by Chaosmon, and the force that tore our world asunder before. I cannot tell you anything more.

But the Zero Arms were the brainchild of Jijimon. He hypothesized that the essence of digimon could be harnessed in weapon form. At the time, there was no greater free source of digimon essence than the shattered remains and souls of the world long past.

The force of so many wills and tortured souls was too difficult to weaponize. The madness of those fallen twisted the weapon into what you saw on Draco Island.

It sounds like that story I heard about how when someone dies violently they come back as an angry spirit that tries to kill people.

...I guess Imperialdramon was right. Chaosmon must have really been suffering with all the people who died inside him...

The legacy of the Royal Knights... it ends with Omegamon and I's sins.

Please, young dragon. I implore you.

Do a better job of upholding Imperialdramon's legacy than I did. Not for my sake, but for the sake of the world.

Aniki says that the rules set by your own heart are the real rules you follow. If you don't think what someone tells you to do is right, then you shouldn't do it, even if you get punished for disobeying.

But for a knight... disobeying one's master is unthinkable... especially when his life is owed to that master...
