I did my homework so that I knew what strings were attached to the power they sought so direly.

Still sort of a dick move, but I can't say there'd have been a lotta folks clamoring to unlock that thing if they'd known what was under there. On the other hand, I gotta wonder if that power is a GOOD thing, or something else that's going to screw everyone else in the face.

Amaimon, himself, is harder to read than other demons. We don't even know what provokes him completely. When he feels disrespected is one.

As for my own motivations, I didn't lie but I didn't share the entire truth. I wanted to speak with him so that we could form some sort of truce. He is powerful and has gone after my brother in the past. I am also trying to not kill demons as I used to. I try to reason with them first before fighting.
