first pill video;

[The video comes on to the face of a young woman in her late twenties/early thirties with bright blue eyes and dark blonde hair. To anyone who knows Quatre, she might actually look a tiny bit familiar, but it’s sort of a ‘blink and you miss it’ familiarity.

She’s staring at the video feed curiously, looking up and down several times as she presses buttons on the comm, testing things out. Amazingly it only takes her a second to realize it’s recording, and she smiles somewhat sheepishly before setting it down, getting a Dorumon in the screen. He looks bored. Very bored. He’s just fiddling with his Rise Bracer.]

So this is recording to the network, correct?

[If she’s asking her digimon, he doesn’t answer, and she seems to assume that’s the case.]

I’m Dr. Irea Winner. I’ve just arrived here, and I was hoping for some assistance. My Dorumon partner has explained quite a bit to me but he mentioned... needing a place to live... I still think you need a name I can call you by...

Yeah, well, that’s not my problem.

Mnn... but it is a problem... so... Ah, I know! Tenyen.

... Tenyen?

Yes.

[Irea smiles brightly, looking perfectly content with this. “Tenyen” blinks, stares, then shrugs and goes back to fiddling with his Rise Bracer. Irea turns back to her video.]

Anyway, as I was saying, any help finding a place to live or even stay for the night would be very welcome. Thank you.

[Gets Saghid and looks up Irea's GPS locator before heading out to meet her.]

I think this is it.

[Irea is inside at a table, sitting with a cup of tea. She's surprisingly not all that frazzled, but staring distantly before he comes in. Tenyen is being quiet, and looks a tad more sulky than his tamer.]

[Goes inside and sees Irea, rushing over to her, and wrapping his arms around her neck.]

Irea, you don't know how good it is to see you again!

Ah--!

[It's okay Quatre, your sister only nearly fell out of her chair.

Tenyen makes a noise at the two of them and looks away with a grumble. Irea hugs Quatre back tightly now that she's not toppling out of her seat.]

What's going on? I was talking to some one who said that you'd been here for a while?

Oh? Well, I've been here for two years.

Two--...

[she pulls back, holding him by his arms to look at him. Not a lot has changed, but there's very subtle details that she's finally noticing.]

... you're--... Quatre, how old are you?

Um...[looks down sheepishly at his feet]...18.

... I don't understand how that's possible. You were barely fifteen when I was with you...

This place can take people from different points in time. Duo's dad is here but...the last time he saw Duo was when he was a toddler.

I see...

[She only knows Duo by name, but there's a strange comfort in knowing they're not the only ones from their world here.

She's still holding on to him, but luckily she hasn't noticed there's something different about his arms. Yet.]

... have you been doing alright here?

Mostly. You know teenagers, we get into all kinds of trouble all the time.

Well, I can't argue with that.

[She hugs him again, tighter this time]

I'm really glad you're okay, Quatre...

[Nods and pulls away slightly. He'd watched her die, something she clearly didn't remember.]

A lot happened during and after the wars. But...I was able to start over here.

[She doesn't, but that might be a good thing right now.]

You were? Well, I suppose you would have to. Though... settling in won't be so difficult with you here to show me the way.

[she smiles at him, and starts to pull away, but something catches her attention and makes her stop, hands now on his upper arms right where the connection of his automail arms would be under the sleeves of his shirt.

She doesn't say anything, but she gives him a strange, confused look.]

[He quickly takes his arms back, moving to the other side of the table and sitting down.]

A-are you hungry at all?

[No no no, you're not getting away that easily, Quatre. She grabs his hand before he can get too far, giving it a squeeze. There's a certain affection to it, yes, but she's also checking something and gauging his reaction while she does so.]

... yes. A little.

[Pulls away slightly, but tries not to move his hand much. Though the lack of a pulse will probably give it away.]

Okay. We can go somewhere to get something to eat then.

[Yup. Too late, Quatre. You're busted, and she's not letting go.]

What happened?

Nothi-- I mean...um...

[squeezing harder]

Don't lie to me.

[Rolls a sleeve up passed the metal band to show her his full arm.]

An accident happened...

An accident... ?

[she moves her hand up to the band, checking the difference between the two. Really if she wasn't a doctor, it might not have been all that noticeable, but it's still startling.]

I don't--... what kind of accident does this? It feels like your arms aren't even... real.

The lower portion isn't...they were...amputated. These are prosthetic. Some friends and co-workers of mine developed them for me.

Amputated?!

[some how, despite her obvious shock, she manages to keep her voice down. That doesn't stop her from looking like she's about ready to cry. She stands up and pulls Quatre in to her arms, holding on tightly.]

Oh Quatre... I'm so sorry...

[He leans into the embrace.]

I'm okay now, really. There are some good doctors here, and there weren't any complications.
