[Some one is very busy in the big Hyperion kitchen today. There's a radio playing in the background, a lot of stuff already made and even more started and cooking. It all looks very delicious, and if smells could come through the D-Comm it would be guaranteed people's mouths would be watering.

The one responsible for all of it is at the sink in an apron and casual clothes, back to his D-Comm as he runs water over something and his tail swishing back and forth in time with the music.

His partner climbs up on to the island counter where the finished food is laid out, picking up something with her claws and giving it a sniff before nibbling on it.]

Mmm... what's all this, Rin?

Hm?

[Rin perks up, looking over his shoulder with a proud grin.]

Oh, Watanuki-san wants the bakery to participate in the food festival on Tetha, so he put me in charge of figuring out other food to serve!

[He's obviously pleased with this development. Watanuki was pretty uncertain about him at first, but Rin proved himself through his cooking. It's the first job he's managed to keep longer than a couple of weeks, and getting that kind of responsibility has obviously improved his demeanor.

Ty seems to take notice of this.]

He's giving you a lot of responsibility for being so new. [she smiles] I'm really proud of you.

Heheh... [Rin grins with that, rubbing the back of his neck] Well... he thinks I've got potential. That's good, right?

Of course! I-- ... Rin I think something is burning.

[Sure enough, there's a bit of smoke curling above Rin's head. He looks up at it, then over at the oven off screen.]

Crap--!

[he bolts away, and there's a bit of clanking and noise before the feed shuts off finally.]

[The owner of the voice is Ratchet, leaning up against the counter on the other side of the island. He's smirking at Rin as he watches him.]

[Rin doesn't seem to notice him at first, but after a second a warm (but not too hot) meat bun is tossed Ratchet's way for him to catch.]

I have work ethic too, yehknow.

[Apollo tosses it into his mouth and answers while chewing.]

There's lots of it here. Were you gonna eat it all or something?

[He sounds completely disinterested in Rin's complaints. Either he doesn't get what the problem is or he doesn't care. Probably both.]

Er--... no! I was gonna give it away! But you gotta ask first, it's rude if you don't!

[totally shaking a metal spoon at you Apollo]

If you're gonna give it away anyway then what's the big deal?

[Grabs another... what is Rin actually making anyways?]

Actually, I haven't had really good baklava in a while. Do you think that would be something you're interested in making?

I could bring over a recipe if you need one! [ He secretly wants to help, but he's not going to ask if he can do so. |D;;; Watanuki gave Rin this assignment for a reason, right? ]

[Rin goes looking for his recipe books, flipping through them rapidly, but of course baklava isn't in there.

Eheh... l-looks like I don't have that one... could you bring me it?

Oh that "manners" shit? I don't need those.

[...oh Rin it is so on. Apollo lunges forward to try and both flick Rin hard in the forehead and, while Rin's hopefully distracted, grab a big handful of yakitori instead of just one more.]

I'll grab what I want, furball. If you don't want anyone else eatin' it then don't leave it lying around.

[Oh Rin is raging. Ty just puts a paw over her face and doesn't even try to get involved. Rin dodges the flick, but he is distracted enough that Apollo makes off with a couple of sticks.]

GET BACK HERE!

[Action]

[And Apollo's stuffing those yakitori into his mouth right away. He'll spit out the sticks later when he has a minute. He bounds away on all fours, replying around the sticks coming out of the corner of his smirking mouth.]

Yeah, you smell like a weird mangy cat. I can beat cats to food no problem.

CATS CAN'T COOK LIKE I DO!

[CHASING. In an apron. Yup.]

For a cat this is pretty good.

[He spits the clean sticks out of the side of his mouth as he runs.]

Maybe you could make it with cat meat next time. Or would that be too weird, cooking another cat?

[yup, still chasing]

Okay, okay, you're not a cat, even if you smell kinda like one. A cat wouldn't let his food burn in the oven like yours is now.

[It's a lie, of course, but with that attempt at a distraction Apollo will make a lunge for the yakitori.]

Ha, nice try. I'd know if somethin' was burnin'.

[Really, Apollo? The 'your stuff is burning' trick doesn't work on some one like him.

Rin grins wickedly, and as soon as Apollo tries to go for the yakitori again Rin grabs his wrist.]

Ask. Ask nicely and I'll give you whatever the hell you want.

[Action]

[Apollo should probably have known that that wouldn't work, since he's not the only one who would be able to smell burning food, but he was too focused on beating Rin at this little game to think of that.

When Rin grabs his wrist he immediately tries to pull away. He's a lot stronger than he looks.]

Let go!

[If Rin doesn't immediately release him he'll go in and bite down on Rin's forearm.]

[Action]

[Rin doesn't let go, and he's a lot stronger than he looks too. As soon as Apollo tries to yank away, Rin is dragging him back across the counter.

And the biting? Does not phase him. He's been chewed on by other demons before.

This is going to turn in to a nasty game of tug of war here.]

Either apologize, ask nicely, or get the hell out of this kitchen.
