[locked from hostiles]

Hello, everyone. I've been doing some research and I felt it was a good idea to share some findings with you all.

I'm sure you've all noticed some changes, beyond that of the D-Comm. We all have a seperate digivice, and it seems to vary from person to person. From what I can tell, there at least four "archetypes" of digivice, which those from Witchelny say are called the "Soul", "Matrix," "Spirit, and "Xros Digivices."

I'd like to focus on the latter two, as they are the most starkly different from what we're used to. The Spirit Digivice seems to be based on the methods used by several individuals from a certain world, that were once present here before being sent home. From what they told us, they were able to use items called "Spirits" to evolve into digimon, rather than have a digimon partner. In this case, Yggdrasil has seemed to have replicated this method, and given two spirits to Tamers that have a Spirit Digivice.

The next is... rather interesting. The "Xros Digivice" seems to activate a process similar to evolution, except... well, the digimon are not actually evolving. Rather, they are uniting and becoming stronger. However, unlike Jogress, where two digimon become a single being, with this method of advancement, a single digimon seems to act as the core of the combination. Details are sketchy, but it seems as they grow in strength, the number of possible combinations will increase. Furthermore, Tamers with this sort of digivice seem to have more than one "partner", as it were. It seems they've all had their strength limited to the Adult level, however.

For those Tamers with a Soul Digivice, not much seems to have changed, besides a need to insert digi-soul to evolve our digimon. As for those with a Matrix digivice, from what I can tell, their focus is now on playing a support role through the use of supplied "option cards" and greater defensive options.

That is... all the general information I can provide. I only hope this has been of some use to everyone.

If anyone has any questions regarding the Matrix Tamers, it would be wise to point out that's the system Tamers from our world work with. Takato, Juri, Hirokazu, and myself are thus all pretty well versed in it.

So you could always ask us if you have any questions. I guess.

You missed one important thing there, Norstein.

It appears that the assignment of the new "digivices" was done without properly taking into account the abilities of individual Tamers; I have received a "Soul Digivice" despite not being alive, and thus incapable of possessing the emotions required to generate Digi-Soul.

Your sentience is a digital life form within the confines of a Digital World.

Not only should it be probable with proper experience, it is little different from how the element of Digimon Evolution functioned prior.

My being sentient does not mean that I am alive. I am a machine controlled by a supercomputer programmed to simulate human thought patterns. Machines are not alive, nor are they people.

I have never generated Digi-Soul during my time in this world. The sole instance my partner evolved was following the release of the Shining Evolution

As my partner has only evolved during the battle on Draco Island, I do not have first-hand experience with the normal process of evolution prior to these changes. However, it would seem that the Soul Digivice is the least appropriate digivice for me to possess, as there is no possibility of me triggering evolution, unlike the other methods of evolution, which imply at least a limited ability to occur without a Tamer possessing emotions. Fortunately, I have no intention of engaging in combat, thus this is unlikely to cause problems and simply brings to attention an apparent flaw in the assignment process.

Hate to put a damper on your research efforts, but the wizards put it all here already.

What the hell do you think Touma's pullin' this stuff from?

Then what is the point of this post when the information, that is better then his, is already available? I mean, if he wanted to draw attention to it, he could have just linked to the wizards' post! On top of that, this is incomplete. Why would he give us incomplete information when he has everything easily available right in front of him? It can't take that long to read all of the information the wizards provided.

Now now. I think both sets of information is helpful. And this man has a better voice than the Wizards. And humans are more likely to listen and trust humans rather than digimon who spout information and no one can really find. I suppose you can think of it as preferred flavors of the same kind of drink.

And he hints that he might have more info too. That's what I find interesting.

Oh this is quite interesting! But, well, I'm a little new and I do have a couple of questions if you would be so kind as to help a mare out.

How does one tell the differences between these...digivices, I believe you called them? And what is their purpose? And what exactly is this digisoul you speak of?
